GIG CB! Meet the Band!

GIG CB! Are the "George Inn Giant Ceilidh Band"! Why? Because we play good time ceilidh music, with English, French and Breton flavours. We met (and still do!) down the George Inn sessions, Borough High Street, London (near London Bridge station). 1st Monday of the Month, 8.30pm onwards, unless it's a bank holiday in which case it's the following Monday. Come along, and join the party! Oh, and there's a lot of us... so we're... GIANT!

  • Chris Shaw: Melodeon, fiddle, caller - aka "ze Big Boss", ex Rosbif and Hammersmith Morris. Larger than life, and larger than everyone else too.
  • Caroline Shaw: Fiddle - exciting new face!
  • Alan Day: Anglo-concertina - ex Rosbif, and producer of the Anglo International compilation CD set.
  • Bruce Cooper: Saxophone - exciting new face!
  • Clive Williams: Melodeon - exciting new face!

  • Lucy Sadler: Flute - exciting new face!
  • Mark Prescott: Fiddle - exciting new face!
  • Mark Treasure: Electric Bass - exciting new face!
  • Mel Stevens: Trombone, bagpipes - Now playing with The Drift, and also ex Rosbif. Mel's "Massif Central Tune Books" are legendary sources of dance music from Central France.
  • Mike Gulston: Octave Mandola - exciting new face!
  • Richard Spong: Fiddle - exciting new face!
  • Trevor Bennett: Trombone, tuba - Now playing extensively with the Welsh-Breton ceilidh band Twm Twp, Trevor is also known for playing with many classic English ceilidh bands, including Gas Mark 5
